  No understanding of the history of the Baptist movement. Founded by an English Separatist who worked for separation of church and state, and for his believers to be treated equally, fairly and with respect... I'm sure John Smyth would take offense to one of his pastors equating him to Satan.. Ohhhh! You know those pesky gays, er, women, er, black people, er, hispanic people, er, asian people, er disabled people, er... whoever wants to be treated equally and fairly. You can bet the person responsible for this sign is a white straight man with no disabilities (except for his mental capacity for understanding the big picture) who feels his superiority is being eroded by all of these people who think they are as good and deserving as he. The true shame is not that he thinks this, but that he is in a position to encourage others to maintain this regressive and paranoid belief system. That sound is me...putting my soapbox back in the cabinet!

  It was just a matter of time...if one side of their sign says that "deplorable rednecks" are saved by Jesus, then the other side should say that sex maniacs and men who belittle, grope,and disrespect women, war veterans, Mexicans, muslims, and the handicapped are saved by Jesus too. Fair is fair.
